This project began with the creation of the concept art in the Advanced Visual Research For Animation class. The story is loosely based on the Goosey Goosey Gander nursery rhyme and the main character is a goose that knows that he is cheated on which makes him suicidal.
The goose model was modeled in Maya, while the texture work was done in Mudbox. The texture is quite faint and it is supposed to resemble paper, in order to fit with the real-life cardboard backgrounds.
My personal goal for this project was to make the 3d goose model fit into the real life set. Experimenting with the lighting has been one of my main areas of focus.
The image of the tree was found on Google and added into the following scene during the post production.
