T4ANIP Ex 06: Heavy and Light Sack

University of Portsmouth - Animation Yr. 1 - Animation Principles


This exercise shows two flour sacks of different wights jumping over an obstacle. Because the smaller one is less heavy and more agile, it jumps over the obstacle with ease. The second sack is heavy and can't do it and ends up spilling its contents.

Each sack has a character. The big sack shows a card that has "10" written on it after the small sack's jump and the small one reacts when the big one "dies".

Because the content of the sacks is flour, the overall shape of the sack is changing.

The animation was split in two. The first sequence is the jump of the small sack, and the second sequence is the jump of the big sack.

Before starting to animate, I drew the key frames and timed them roughly.
