University of Portsmouth - Animation Yr. 1 - Introduction To Visual Research For Animation
For this project we were asked to choose a song and respond to the music by producing a series of visuals that explore color, texture and environment.
Therefore I chose Deadmau5 - Aural Psynapse (Mr FijiWiji Remix).
Right from the beginning I knew that the song transmitted a feeling of electricity and space and because of that I wanted to experiment with the waveform which could only be done in After Effects.
To get to the final results I had to actually animate shapes and paths which had the waveform wrapped around.
The project went through many passes, as shown in this video:
As seen, some colors have been changed in the final version to fit the sound of the music better. While I was searching for the meaning of different colors on the internet I found the following web site, which proved to be very helpful: http://www.color-wheel-pro.com/color-meaning.html
My decision about the colors was also influenced by a video that popped up on my news feed:
It became a great source of inspiration and helped me in my search for the right colors.
